  1. It's been another great few weeks in Huntsville. On Saturday, February 13th, I got to sit down to chat with Heather Berg at the Table Soup Food Bank. http://www.thetablesoupkitchen.com/ Thanks for spending so much time with me Heather, you and your volunteers are amazing...and judging from the number of people that use your services, this organization is a vital part of this caring community.

The Community Forum on February 3rd was well attended and the participation and level of enthusiasm was exciting. Regardless of what sector you were there representing, the reasons for why you love Huntsville were similar. The summary report from that night will be available online very soon.

I met with Judith Blanchette at the Library on Tuesday... she's done incredible work with her kids environmental club over the years...

Thanks to Ellen Fox for inviting me to meet the Probus Club of Huntsville/ Muskoka North on February 11th. I have received a few calls and emails from members in the days following the meeting.

On the same day, I went to visit Celine and Jonathan at Sustain.... what a great store! Sustainable products look incredible, are made in sustainable ways and are intended to last... it's like a little oasis of life in a disposable world... and it's right here in Huntsville! If you want to learn more about sustainable living, they both encourage you to drop in. Here is their website: http://www.sustainmuskoka.ca/

This week I'm meeting with a few individuals, heading over to Huntsville High on Wednesday, meeting with the King William Business Association on Thursday morning - bright and early. (thanks Mikey...)

It has been a great privilege living in Huntsville for these past weeks and meeting so many inspirational people. I can truly see and feel why everyone loves Huntsville so much.

I still have lots of time in my schedule to meet with other groups. Please feel free to email me with suggestions or invitations!

I went to Family Pond Day on January 24th... what a great way for families to spend time together....
Since arriving in Huntsville a few short weeks ago as part of the LURA team to work with you on your sustainability plan, I have met a lot of great people. Many thanks to Councillor Greaves, Councillor Fletcher, and Manager of Parks, Cemeteries & Environment, Colleen MacDonald for my initial introduction to the town and the great dinner at Louis'II. Thanks to Teri Souter for introducing me to almost everyone at the G8 Town Hall meeting, and to Mayor Doughty for meeting with me to discuss the sustainability project. In addition to the Working Group meetings, I have attended an Environment Committee meeting, a Economic Development Committee meeting, a Lakes Association Council meeting, a Green Plan Task Force meeting, shopped at a number of places in Commerce Park and stopped in at some of the amazing stores downtown - and had a great conversation with Terry at bigbead while buying one of his amazing fish! I've had tours of the Centennial Centre, your parks, the University of Waterloo site, and checked out Family Pond Day - in the rain ... thanks to all of you that I have met so far and I look forward to meeting more of you in the coming months. I plan on attending an Otters game very soon and LURA is scheduled to give a presentation to the Centennial Seniors in March. Introduce yourself to me at the Community Forum on February 3rd (7pm in the Partners Hall, Huntsville Civic Centre).
